INDEPENDENCE DAY
Independence Day, an occasion the remember the brave souls who laid down their lives for the nation. It is not just a day, it is a painful feeling that we carry in our hearts, a day to hear and remember the unsung saga of many unknown lives. On this day at our school the flag was hoisted by Mr.T P Sasidharan (Former P T A President of our school). The speech delivered by the dignitaries emphasised the importance of freedom and justice. The patriotic songs sung by the students of LP and UP section, once again reminded us of our responsibility as Indian citizens. The tricolour, the patriotic songs, the students’ performances, everything evoked the spirit of freedom struggle. The Independence Day celebration came to an end, once again reminding us of the real meaning of “freedom’’. Imbided by the spirit and zeal of the foundress the Venerini sisters dedicate themselves for the noble cause of education with the motto “Educate to set free”.. Venerini s’ nurturing environment embraces the Gospel message through religious and academic instruction of its dedicated staff. Through the inspiration of the educational belief of Saint Rosa Venerini, “To educate is to liberate,” we foster the spiritual, moral, physical, intellectual, and social development of the child. We provide a solid foundation which allows each student to make a positive impact in the community.
The Indian mission was the dream and desire of mother Alba Pescatori, who was then the Superior General of the Congregation. The dream was happily realized by her staunch faith in God and preserving prayer and sacrifice. A group of 4 Venerini Sisters led by Sr.Lea Altigieri landed in India and they were accommodated by the Sisters of Charity in Calicut. With the help of late Bishop Rt.Rev. Aldo Maria Patroni and Rev.Fr.Joseph Vergotini S.J, the sisters could find a small plot with a house which belonged to late.Mr.John Valander...
